Mini biography of Evgeny Stychkin

Evgeny Stychkin was born on 10 June 1974. He is a theatre and film actor and graduated from VGIK (workshop of A.Dzhigarkhanyan and A.Filozov) in 1994. In 1993 he began working in The Theatre of Clownery of Theresa Durova.

In 1995 he was engaged in The Theatre of Moon in Moscow, where he became known as Charlie Chaplin in a biographical play “Charlie Cha…”. He has participated in many more theatre troupes, such as the Vahtangovs Theatre, the Theatre of Mossovet, the Practika Theatre, etc. He starred in Tom Stoppard’s Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead in 2009 and in Patrick Marber’s Closer in 2010 with the Drugoy Theatre Company.

On stage, he has successfully portrayed Charlie Chaplin, Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin, while on the screen he has transformed into Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov and Tsar Nikolai.

He has also received a number of awards for his performances: the Jaika award for Charlie Chaplin in 2002, the Vivat Kino Rossii for Aprel in 2003, the Triumph award in 2009 and the Duh Ognia award for Samoubiytsi in 2012.
