Mini biography of Alexandra Sakellaropoulou
Alexandra Sakellaropoulou graduated from the Karolos Koun Theatre of Arts Drama School in 1983 and collaborated with the Theatre on many occasions from 1981 to 1984. She’s also collaborated with the Patras International Festival and the National Theatre of Northern Greece, among others.
She received the “Karolos Koun” award in 1989 for her performance in the play Faith, Hope and Charity.
During 1992 to 2001, she moved to France where she collaborated with the Bernard Lotti - Theatre de l’Instant, in Molière’s Dom Juan, Horvath’s Don Juan Comes Back from the War, Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, and many more.
In 2001 she co-directed Dostoyevsky’s Notes from Underground with Daniel Dupont at the National Theatre of Brittany in France.
Upon returning to Greece, Alexandra collaborated with the National Theatre of Greece, the Municipal and Regional Theatre of Patras, as well as the Plucked Strings Orchestra of the Municipality of Patras.
In October 2003, she stars in the one woman show of Rea Galanaki Eleni or Nobody, directed by Themis Moumoulidis; a role which she reprised in 2012. During the Naughties she continues to participate in many theatre plays, Iphigenia at Aulis, La Locandiera, Nordost, The Lower Depths, Cocktail Party, Exiles and many more. Her latest film collaboration was in Iannis Smaragdis’ God Loves Caviar.
In the movies she has also collaborated with Periklis Hoursoglou in Style (1989) and Nikos Grammatikos in Klisti Strofi (1991).
She has starred in renowned TV series, collaborating with Iannis Smaragdis – Hush…Our Country is Sleeping, Iannis Diamantopoulos – To Bourini, Mirella Papaoikonomou, Nikos Kavoukidis – O pseftis Pappous, Theo Papadoulakis – To nisi.
