«God Loves Caviar» by Iannis Smaragdis, was spectacular
On Monday, the 1st of October, a few days prior to its theatre release and following its successful worldwide premiere at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival, the much anticipated film “God Loves Caviar” premiered in Greece, in the crowded Athens Concert Hall, where all guests were warmly welcomed by the director Iannis Smaragdis and the Managing Director of Feelgood Entertainment, Irene Souganidou.
During his speech, Iannis Smaragdis thanked everyone who supported his vision with their devotion and love. More specifically, he mentioned Achilleas Konstantakopoulos, Konstantza Sbokou, Sotiris Tsafoulias, Isabella Arvaniti, Makis Matsas, Yannis Papadogiannakis and Irene Souganidou who the director described as the noble navigator of the film. Obviously moved, he also mentioned his wife and producer of his films, his angel Eleni Smaragdi, whose wings he always borrows when making a film.
Many celebrities attended the premiere, while leading actor Sebastian Koch wowed the crowds with his exquisite performance. Also present were co-stars Evgeny Stychkin and Olga Sutulova. Lakis Lazopoulos, Christopher Papakaliatis, Marisha Triantafyllidou, Akis Sakellariou, Fotini Baxevani, Pavlos Kontogiannidis, Alexandros Milonas and George Kotanidis, to name a few, were also in attendance.
Among the event’s glitterati were the film’s composer Minos Matsas, and artists Alekos Fasianos, Kostas Tsoklis, Kyr, Yannis Metzikof, Loudovikos of Anogeia, Marinella, Dimitris Kataleifos, Konstantinos Markoulakis, Manousos Manousakis, Dimos Avdeliodis and Tony Likouresis.
Many politicians were also invited to the premiere: Simos Kedikoglou, Christos Staikouras, Minister of Culture Kostas Tzavaras, president of the Piraeus Port George Anomeritis, Yannis Michelakis and Mimis Androulakis, among others, who showed great interest in the film «God Loves Caviar» whose storyline can easily be linked with life nowadays. Important personas from the communication field also attended the premiere, such as Nikos Chatzinikolaou, Dimitris Gontikas, Christos Panagopoulos and Stamatis Malelis.
The remarkable true story of Ioannis Varvakis touched the hearts of Christos Konstantakopoulos, Dimitris Kontominas as well as Margarita Matsa, who enjoyed the event.
